Adena Power Shares 1-kWh Module with State, Federal & Local Energy Storage Experts

In late December Adena Power was extremely happy to host a diverse group of energy storage experts from the industry including the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the State of Ohio Department of Development, and The Ohio State University to see our 1-kWh module demonstration and learn more about our new sodium solid-state battery technology.

The U.S. DOE provided funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which supported early technology development, and we were honored to share this important milestone with U.S. DOE representative, Anna J. Siefken, Commercialization Executive, Office of Technology Transitions (OTT).

“It was very exciting to see the progress that Adena Power has made in advancing their new battery technology,”said Siefken. “It is a great example of how the U.S. Department of Energy SBIR program supports the commercialization of new technologies for our clean energy future.”

Duke Energy has been a key partner of Adena Power’s and was represented by Tom Fenimore, Director of Duke Energy’s Emerging Technology Innovation Center and shared, “Duke Energy is looking forward to validating Adena Power’s technology in early 2023 at our Emerging Technology Innovation Center in Mt. Holly, NC. with the testing of a larger 15 kWh system integrated into our DC microgrid.”
